Madonna’s Secret Project Video Promo Projected on 31st Street

A crowd gathered on 31st and 8th last night to watch a mysterious, 17 minute projection featuring none other than Madonna. Dressed in bondage (just like the old days), Madge preached about freedom of speech, creativity, economic crisis, hypocrisy and cultural intolerance.

The film, which she created with photographer/filmmaker Steven Klein, was the lead up to the release of today’s secretprojectrevolution download. The download, which will only be available only through Bittorrent, marks the beginning of her new Art for Freedom initiative, in collaboration with the file sharing service and VICE.

“My goal is to show by the example of secretprojectrevolution my creative commitment to inspire change in the world through artistic expression,” Madonna said in a statement. “I hope my film and other submissions to Art for Freedom will be a call to action and give people a place to voice their own creative expression to help fight oppression, intolerance and complacency.”

This is not the first time Madonna and Klein have teamed up. He’s created all of the back drop videos for her tours taking place from 2004-2009. Klein is also responsible for Lady Gaga’s much talked about “Alejandro” music video.
