San Cisco

Australian indie pop quartet San Cisco visited New York to headline the Bowery Ballroom last night. And they brought some great bands with them. Smallpools wowed us with a fantastic rendition of the New Radicals “You Get What You Give”. Teen-girl pop group Supercute! were fun and pretty cute.

Throughout the opening band sets, fans were chanting San Cisco’s name. They were calling for them to take the stage. A wave of excitement washed over the audience when the band  finally appeared and began playing their brand of sunshiny hook-ridden indie pop. The young crowd loudly sang every word of their classic hit “Awkward” after drummer Scarlett Stevens said she needed help singing due to a case of the giggles. You could tell they were still high off the excitement of their newly released self-titled album. The audience was clearly feeding off that energy and throwing it right back at the band. It was a great night to be young, happy and dancing in New York with your favorite Aussie imports.

-San Cisco ended the night with a genius mashup double dose of Pharrell Williams “Get Lucky” with N.E.R.D.’s “Hypnotise U.” You can watch them perform it live below courtesy of Trip J.
